Vanessa Rae cut her teeth in television news being interviewed in front of her apartment about her favorite Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon, Bullwinkle. She then made her film debut at age 8 in her mother’s NYU student short.

Vanessa went on to bring a unique twist to even the smallest theatrical roles in her elementary school and sleep away camp productions, including the part of Molly in Annie where she screamed the memorable line “You'll stay up till this dump shines like the top of the Chrysler Building!” She continues in the same tradition today, however, slightly taller.

Based in New York and Los Angeles, Vanessa freelances as an actor, television host, producer and develops original programming through her production companies, Upside Up Productions and V-ray Productions.

As a television presenter and producer, Vanessa Rae reports on entertainment, music, fashion, lifestyle, & travel as well as world news.  Known for being a tireless and tenacious go getter, she thinks quickly on her feet and conveys humor, intelligence, and genuine compassion in her interviews.

As host of National Lampoon Network’s Comedy Academy, Vanessa uses comedic flair in her interviews with actors at movie junkets and covers the red carpet with the best of them.

Vanessa hosted IMNY, a live television talk show with a studio audience of young adults/teenagers that won two New York Emmys. She also hosted Bridge to Baghdad, a live two hour satellite discussion between young adults in Baghdad and New York City on the brink of the war with Iraq in 2003. And for Red Connection, produced by Red Distribution/Sony Music, Vanessa interviewed musicians and recording artists.

Hailing from Manhattan and South Florida, Vanessa graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University’s College of Communication and School of Journalism. With a resume full of internships ranging from CNN to Fashion File, Vanessa received her first television pay check while working on a Fashion & Television thesis during a study abroad in London.

Back in New York City, Vanessa got her start at MTV’s House of Style and went on to work as an MTV News Segment Producer covering music, movies, Black History Month and pro social news stories.

Vanessa Rae is a published writer and internationally exhibited artist who enjoys travel, decorating, exercise, singing, ballroom dancing and a life that is rich (but not too fattening) with experience & adventure.
